Our Thomasville, North Carolina office is now scheduling respirator fit tests for most respirator types including N-95.
A respirator fit test confirms if a tight-fitting respirator can be worn without having any leaks. It should take place after an employee has been medically cleared to wear a respirator and before the employee actually wears it on the job. A respirator fit test is required by OSHA for all tight-fitting respirators. An employee must complete the fit test using a respirator that’s the same make, model, and size of the one used on the job. Please bring other required equipment such as goggles.
Before scheduling a date for the respirator training and fit test, an on-line medical evaluation must be completed. We will provide a link and login to the questionnaire which is used to determine if a respirator can be safely used.
Respirator Training, Testing & Certification Includes:
- A physician approved Medical Evaluation Questionnaire (MEQ) completed prior to scheduling the fit test training & testing
- Instruction on how to correctly don a respirator
- Safety protocols for maintaining, cleaning and disposing of your respirator
- Qualitative fit testing using a bitter solution to certify wearer is correctly using their N-95 or other respirator
$129 fee includes everything including the medical evaluation. We will send a link to complete the evaluation after purchase, then an appointment time will be scheduled.
